Jazz musicians, as seen through their record covers
Record cover art can be “objects of desire” in themselves, and are certainly part of the pleasure of owning vinyl over the evil silver disc. They are a marketing tool, or sometimes, a marketing disaster. The worst are the “pose for camera” photos – this Sonny Fortune portrait is just one of many.
